INTRALOT S.A recently concluded the procedure needed for the certification of its Information Security Management System (ISMS) against the requirements of the international standard ISO27001:2005.

The ISMS is the framework to design, implement, manage, maintain and enforce information security processes and controls, systematically and consistently, throughout the organizations – a parameter which is vital for every enterprise and especially INTRALOT which is engaged in such a sensitive sector.

The standard covers all types of organizations (e.g. commercial enterprises, government agencies and non-profit organizations). It specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and improving documented ISMS within the context of the organization’s overall risk management processes. It specifies requirements for the implementation of security controls customized to the needs of individual organizations or parts thereof.

The certification took place by the independent and internationally acknowledged German certification body DQS - one the most respected certification organizations in Europe.

As ISO27001 provides an ISMS model for adequate and proportionate security controls to protect information assets and give confidence to interested parties, the certification is increasingly being demanded from suppliers and business partners by organizations that are concerned about information security and therefore their competitiveness and trustworthiness.
