The “Doctors of the World” arrived immediately after the crisis situation in Indonesia and Sri Lanca aiming to provide together with their local colleagues relief operations to thousands of the injured and homeless people, while expanding their aid to the other countries, as well. The Doctors delegation is going to remain in the afflicted areas for as long as necessary in order to help confronting the consequences of this huge disaster and preventing further deaths.

The “Medicins du Monde” organization is an independent, non-governmental, humanitarian, international organization and was founded in France in 1980 by the French doctor Bernard Kouchner who later headed the French Ministry of Health and Humanitarian Action.
