INTRALOT has become the first international lottery vendor to have its Technical Division officially certified with the World Lottery Association (WLA) Security Control Standard certification along with ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification from BSI Management Systems, an information security management systems certification body, accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).

The WLA certification process, which is connected with ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification, involves an extensive examination of lottery systems and services specific security controls. In order to receive the WLA Security Control Standard certification, INTRALOT was audited on its ISMS operation, as well as on specific controls regarding Risk Assessment and Treatment, Security Policy, Organization of Information Security, Asset Management, Human Resources Security, Physical Security, Communications and Operations Management, Access Control, Information Systems Acquisition, Development, Maintenance, Information Security Incident management, Compliance and plans for Business Continuity. BSI also performed on-site inspections, examining INTRALOT’s documented procedures and operations. To determine whether INTRALOT continues to comply with the WLA Security Control Standard and ISO/IEC 27001:2005, BSI will conduct regular audits of the company’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) and related operations.

Receiving certifications from an independent and trustworthy third-party offers concrete proof that INTRALOT is operating an effective ISMS in accordance with the highest possible standards.
